Marie Moore Pittman

Goldsboro – Mrs. Marie Moore Pittman, 87, died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Churchill Moore and Venetia Baker Moore and was married to the late James R. Pittman, Sr. Mrs. Pittman was a member of First Christian Church.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Fred Clark and Rev. Robert F. Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in the Ayden Cemetery, Ayden, NC.

Mrs. Pittman is survived by her daughter, Raye Pittman Hedden and husband, Jerry of Shelby; a son, James R. Pittman, Jr. and wife, Ann of Goldsboro; her sister, Sally Davis of Eureka; four grandchildren, Michelle Singleton and husband, Jeremy, James R. (Jay) Pittman III and wife, Sarah, Summer Koch and husband, Paul and Joel Hedden; and three great-grandchildren, Austin and Justin Pittman and Mary Koch.

The family will receive friends Thursday at Seymour Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. and other times at the home of her son, 201 E. Raintree Lane, Goldsboro.
