Norward Thomas Pittman

Goldsboro – Norward Thomas Pittman, 63, of 977 Stevens Mill Road, died Friday at his home.

A native of Nash County, he was the son of the late Norwood Stanley Pittman and Mildred Jordan Pittman. Mr. Pittman enlisted in the United States Navy as a seaman recruit, where he worked in electronics for 32 years before retiring as a Commander. While in the Navy, he served his country during the Vietnam War. Mr. Pittman was also an avid gardener and woodworker.

Graveside services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck with full military honors. Rev. Vernon Braswell and Rev. Charles Bartholomew will officiate.

Mr. Pittman is survived by his wife, Sandra Watson Pittman; a son, Tom Pittman, Jr. of Goldsboro; a daughter, Trace’ Lee Pittman and her friend, James Huggins of Pittsboro; a sister, Helen Maye and husband, Gene Maye of Charlotte; and his aunts, Anniebelle Wrenn of Weldon and Doris Sykes of Enfield and his uncle, Jack Pittman and his wife Dorothy of Halifax.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
