Greenville – Miss Annette Rackley, 79, of
Cypress Glen died Saturday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of
the late Spencer Relmond Rackley, Jr. and Florence Muns Rackley
Casey. Miss Rackley was a member of Cypress Glen Chapel and was a
graduate of James Walker School of Nursing in Wilmington. A former
teacher with the Lenoir County Schools, Miss Rackely was also
retired from the Nursing Corp of the United States Army and was a
member of the American Legion Post in Lenoir County.
Private graveside services were Monday at 11 a.m.
at Willow Dale Cemetery with Rev. Mary Ellen Bender. A memorial
service will be held at the Cypress Glen Chapel in September.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Holland of
Raleigh; a brother Spencer R. Rackley III of Charlotte; two nieces,
Elizabeth H. Thompson of Raleigh and Robin Rackley Rhoten of
Charlotte and two nephews, Spencer R. Rackley IV of Charlotte and
Joseph L. Rackley of Murel Inlet, SC.
