Dora Smith Radford
Goldsboro – Mrs. Dora Smith Radford, 80, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was a former resident of the Brian Center.
A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Mark Smith and Dora Newsome Smith and was married to the late George H. "Ted" Radford. Mrs. Radford was a retired sales clerk with Woolworth’s. She and her husband operated Radford’s Grocery for twelve years. She was a member of Brogden United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 AM at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Kretzu officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Radford is survived by her daughters, Kaye Radford of Rocky Mount and Vickie Radford Thompson and husband, Carl of Dudley; and two grandchildren, Karla Thompson Fry and husband Darryl and Brooke Thompson of Dudley and a great grandson, Seth Thompson of Dudley; three special nieces, Marie Wells of Goldsboro, Edith King and husband, Jack of Dudley and Ethel S. Bundy of Grand Rapids, Michigan; a sister-in-law, Virginia B. Radford of Garner.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Amy Burroughs and Maggie Radford and a brother, James Smith.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to the Brogden United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2918 S. US 117 Hwy., Dudley, NC 28333.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Carl Thompson.
