Susie Allene Raley

Evansville, IN – Susie Allene Raley, 71, died Monday at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Allen Harding Coward and Fannie Hocutt Coward. Mrs. Raley attended Lees McCrey College in North Carolina. Employed by Evansville State Hospital for 33 years as a lab technician, she was instrumental in developing the entire lab in which she managed for many years. After retiring in 1987, Mrs. Raley enjoyed camping and loved music.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery, Goldsboro with Rev. Bill Hufham officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from noon – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.

Mrs. Raley is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joseph "Carl" Raley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anne Elizabeth Salter of Mashallbergh, NC; Evelyn Frances and Charles Riggs of Ft. Thomas, KY, Melrose and David Ayers of Elizabethtown, Margaret and Herman Jennette of Swansboro and Lucille and James Meachen of Goldsboro; sisters-in-law, Frances Carolyn Brinkley of San Diego, CA and Patty Raley of Indianapolis, IN; and a number of nieces and nephews.
