Thelma Dell Carmack Rhodes Creech
 Goldsboro - Mrs. Thelma Dell Carmack Rhodes Creech, 86, of the Pines and formerly of the Kirkwood Retirement Community, died Tuesday, December 10, 2002, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late John Daniel Carmack and Florence Wade Carmack. Mrs. Creech was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Holts Pond and their Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy at Holts Pond with Rev. Jimmy Earp and Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in the Pauline Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Creech is survived by her daughters, Edna Wise of Courtland, VA, Melba Anderson of Haymarket, VA, Deborah Stafford of Kure Beach, Gloria White of Edenton, Daphne Jones of Selma, Abigail Pollock of Smithfield, and Vickie Osoria of Angier; and her sons, Wayne Rhodes of Mount Olive, Edsel Rhodes of Dudley, Dan Rhodes of Rosewood and Harold Rhodes of Atlanta, GA; twenty-eight grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and five step-children and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ishmael Rhodes and her sisters, Mattie Bell Denning and Betty Jones.
Memorials may be made to the Church of God of Prophecy, 1263 Progressive Church Road, Princeton, NC 27569.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at Dennis and Abigail Pollock, 6434 Brogden Road, Smithfield.
