Haywood Benton Rose

Goldsboro – Mr. Haywood Benton Rose, 79, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Hardy Rose and Minnie Evans Rose. Mr. Rose was retired from Wayne Poultry Company and from Rose’s Auto Service in Goldsboro and was a member of First Christian Church.

Funeral services will be Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Fred Clarke officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Rose is survived by his wife, Rose Grantham Rose; his children, Kay Hill and husband, Charles of Pine Level, Clarence Rose and wife, Jan of Goldsboro, Connie Carter and husband, Gene of Ashland, VA and Tim Rose and wife, Gale of Goldsboro; his brother, Ray Rose of Goldsboro; his sister, Paulene Peacock of Kenly; his grandchildren, April Jones and husband, Tim, Ashlee Hill, Sarah Carter, Clark Rose and Allison Rose; and his great-grandchildren, Kaylee Jones and Hunter Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 1609 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will greet friends Monday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 1604 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro.
