Vonnie Jackson Seymour

Goldsboro – Mrs. Vonnie Jackson Seymour, 89, of 3101 U.S. Highway 117 North died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late James Jackson and Sara Elizabeth (Bettie) Bryant Jackson and was married to the late Albert G. Seymour. Mrs. Seymour lived her life of simplicity enhanced by her tremendous love for and skill in propagating plants. She loved her feathered friends who came to their feeders each day and other little animals. Mrs. Seymour will be remembered as being outstanding in the preparation of food and highly skilled in her stitchery.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Howard D. Seymour, Billy M. Britt and Douglas Seymour officiating. A private family burial will follow.

Mrs. Seymour is survived by her sons, Ralph Seymour and wife, Donna of Goldsboro and Howard Seymour and wife, Connie of Goldsboro; her daughters, Latha Jones and husband, J.A. of Mount Olive, Viola S. Britt and husband, Billy of Greensboro, Iola S. Barrow and husband, James of Goldsboro, and Faye Seymour of the home; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Mar Mac Friends Meeting, 1954 Old Grantham Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530 or the charity of one’s choice.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Howard and Connie Seymour, 116 Perkins Drive, Goldsboro.
