Kathleen Jones Shapou

Goldsboro – Mrs. Kathleen Jones Shapou, 84, died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Georgetown, Kentucky, Mrs. Shapou was the daughter of the late L.K. Jones and Mane S. Jones and was the widow of Teddy R. Shapou. She resided in New Bern with her family and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

A private graveside service will be held in New Bern with Rev. Fred Clifford officiating.

Mrs. Shapou is survived by her daughter, Janis S. Faircloth and husband, Ray of Goldsboro; a son-in-law, Ron Underwood of New Bern; her grandchildren, Tara Stanford of Atlanta, GA, Brad Lee of Rocky Mount and Will Faircloth of Goldsboro; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn S. Underwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the home of Ray and Janis Faircloth, 117 Meadowlark Road, Goldsboro.
