T.E. Sherman, Sr.
 Goldsboro – Mr. T.E. “Red” Sherman, Sr., 77, of 316 E. Holly Street, died Thurdsay at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
A native of New Hanover County, he was the son of the late Howard and Lottie Sherman and was married to the late Georgia Witherington Sherman. Mr. Sherman was a retired superintendent with Brewer Pain and Wallpaper in Rocky Mount. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II and was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Phillip Jethro officiating.
Mr. Sherman is survived by his sons, Keith Sherman and fiance’, Karen Hodges of Goldsboro, Mike Sherman and friend, Brenda Marsh of Rocky Mount, Scott Sherman of Goldsboro and Doug Sherman of Oakridge, TN; a daughter, Wanda S. Harris and husband, Tom of Louisburg; three grandchildren, Brandon Sherman of Goldsboro, Kyle Sherman and Amy Sherman of Oakridge, TN; and a great-grandchildren, Brianna Sherman. He is also survived by his sisters, Hazel Hopkins and husband Otis and Gladys Williams, both of Newport News, VA.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thurman Earl Sherman, Jr., his brothers, Carl Sherman and Clifton Sherman and a sister, Mildred Sherman.
