Damon Shivar

Goldsboro – Mr. Damon Shivar, 78, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Lenoir County, he was the son of the late Nat Shivar and Mabel Grady Shivar. Mr. Shivar was retired from the United States Army and served his country during World War II. He also was the owner and operator of Shivar Motors.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Chambers Family Cemetery.

Mr. Shivar is survived by his wife, Juanita Tew Shivar; a son, Glenn Shivar of Goldsboro, a step-son, Greg Waters of Goldsboro; and two sisters, Nell Shivar Potter of Seven Springs and Emma Shivar Holland of Seven Springs.

Mr. Shivar was preceded in death by his brothers, Sam Shivar and Tap Shivar.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
