Lawrence Arthur Sies

LaGrange – Mr. Lawrence Arthur Sies, 82, died Friday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

A native of Carter Co., OK, he was the son of the late Arthur Charles Sies and Minnie Jean Scott Sies and was married to the late Sally Reba Grooms Sies. Mr. Sies served in the United States Navy and retired as an Aviation Chief Machinist Mate.

Funeral services and burial will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the cemetery chapel of Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville with full military honors.

Mr. Sies is survived by his son, Lawrence Edward Sies, Sr. of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Lawrence E. Sies, Jr. and wife, Jody of Wilmington, DE, Cynthia L. Schwartz and husband, Daniel of Cary, Teresa M. Padgett and husband, Charles of Waldorf, MD and Deborah J. Routt of Annapolis, MD; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ernestine Esther Harris of Oklahoma City, OK and Helen Nadine Pasionek of Fredericksburg, VA.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
