Joseph H. Sills

Goldsboro - Joseph Henry "Mickey" Sills, 83 of 1230 Saulston Road, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late William H. "Will" and Ada Reardon Sills. A World War II veteran, he was retired from Burlington Industries of Goldsboro. Mr. Sills was a member of the Woodmen of the World.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:30 PM at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dock Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Laura Smith Jernigan Sills; a son, Henry Allen Sills and wife, Jean Sills, of Goldsboro; a stepson, Troy E. Jernigan and wife, Anne Jernigan of Pikeville; stepdaughters, Ruby A. Corlew and husband, Glenn Corlew and Carolyn Fields and husband, David Fields, all of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas Moye, William "Bill" Sills, Marvin P. Sills and Elbert Sills.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 until 9 PM at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times, at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Allen Sills, 178 Vance Drive in the Stoney Creek Community.
