Harold Singleton

Harold Singleton, of 1987 NC Hwy. 111 South, died Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Wayne County, Mr. Singleton was the son of the late Brodie Milford Singleton and Lillie Grant Singleton. He worked with the Gainey Sand and Gravel Company before beginning the family Poultry House Cleaning Service. Mr. Singleton was an active and faithful member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Sauls and George Moore officiating. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Singleton leaves to cherish his memory his wife of almost 56 years, Rachel Moye Singleton; his sons, David Harold Singleton and wife Jo Ann of Burgaw, Sherwood Singleton and wife Sandy of Goldsboro and Johnny Singleton and wife Mary Beth of Goldsboro; six grandchildren, Dr. Kelly Singleton, Mia Freeman, Jennifer Singleton, Jason Singleton, Joshua Singleton and Hannah Singleton; two step-grandchildren, Brandon Strickland and Colby Strickland; three great-grandchildren, Kathlyn Freeman, Laina Freeman Hayley Singleton; three step-great-grandchildren, Chase Hood, Jennifer Hood and Joshua Hood; his brothers, Alvin Singleton and wife Mildred of Goldsboro, Billy Singleton and wife Pat of Indiana, and Bobby Singleton and wife Pat of Goldsboro; his sisters, Mildred Bailey of Goldsboro, Rachel Bush and husband Jesse of Indiana, Christine Smith and husband James of Goldsboro, Margaret Ann Bain and husband Jim of Florida and Faye Miller of LaGrange; his sisters-in-law, Enzie Singleton and Lola Singleton, both of LaGrange; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kirby Singleton and Milford Singleton and his brothers-in-law, Earl Bailey and Bob Miller.

The family will receive friends Thursday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
