Amaziah Parker Smith, M.D.

Amaziah Parker Smith, M.D., 92, died Friday at Sunrise Assisted Living in Raleigh.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late John Franklin Smith and Julia Hatsell Smith and was married to the late Lilla Belle McCrary Smith. Dr. Smith retired from his medical practice in Goldsboro in 1988. He was a member of the Goldsboro Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #139 and the Moose Lodge of Goldsboro.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Fred Clarke officiating.

Dr. Smith is survived by a son, Roger P. Smith and wife, Jane of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Brian Smith, Kevin Smith, and Graham Smith; and great-grandchildren, Grayson Smith and Tristan Rhodes.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
