Doris Head Smith

Doris Head Smith, 79, went to be with the Lord, December 6th at Kitty Askins Hospice Center following a courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Greene County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Head and Alice Ginn Head and was married to the late James "Jim" M. Smith. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Fort Run Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Larry Turlington and Ed Tatum officiating. Burial followed in the Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, James W. Smith; grandchildren Angela S. Merritt and husband, Ricky, Amanda S. Lee and husband, Kevin and Alan Smith and wife, Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Merritt, Blayne Lee, Abigail Lee and Austin Smith; sisters, Beatrice Dawson and Faye Lane brothers, Robert Head; Wadeus Head, Bailey Head and Billy Head.
