Miles Casey Tew, Jr.

Goldsboro – Mr. Miles Casey Tew, Jr., 78, died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Wayne County, Mr. Tew was the son of the late Miles Casey Tew Sr. and Lila Price Tew and was married to the late Annabelle Gaither Tew. He was a retired Chief Boatswain with the United States Navy and served his country during World War II. Mr. Tew was a member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Dr. Rick Cason will officiate.

Mr. Tew is survived by his mother, Evelyn Tew Sybeldon of Goldsboro; a half-brother, John David Tew of Goldsboro; a half sister, Geraldine Schmaucher of Charlotte; a step-son, Benjamin F. Pemberton, Jr. of Sylacauga, AL; a step-daughter, Patricia A. Hicks of Valley, AL; six step-grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
