James Edgar Thomas Jr

Goldsboro – Mr. James Edgar "Cookie" Thomas, Jr., 65, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late James Edgar Thomas, Sr. and Lucy Ellen Honeycutt Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a retired electrician having worked with Wayne Electric for 38 years. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church and served 13 years in the National Guard.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Whitfield and Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Alice Faye Stocks Thomas; a daughter, Zandra Lynn Lumia of Virginia; a son, James E. Thomas III of Goldsboro; sisters, Margaret L. Pate of Virginia, Doris Healy of Stanton Island, NY and Dorothy Poandl of Goldsboro; a brother, Paul Gregory Thomas of California; three grandchildren, James Philip Leroy, Heather Lumia and Chris Lumia; and a great-grandson, Steven James Leroy.

Memorials may be made to the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will receive friends Monday at Seymour Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. and other times at the residence.
