Catherine Smith Thompson

Goldsboro – Mrs. Catherine Smith Thompson, 58, died Sunday, November 3, 2002 at her home following a battle with cancer.

A native of Wayne County, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of Ralph Harris Smith, Sr. and Catherine Vail Smith. She graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1961 and attended Campbell College. Mrs. Thompson will be forever remembered by friends and family as a women who was physically beautiful but also radiated an inner beauty that was felt by all she knew. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Robert E. “Pee Wee” Thompson; her three daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Gregory Winstead of Nashville, Carol and Brent Alton of Greensboro and Connie and Scott Skinner of Nashville; her two grandchildren, Catherine Skinner and Jackson Alton; a sister, Clarkie Perkins of Goldsboro and her daughters, Jennifer and Jessy Ann; a sister-in-law, Bunny Smith of Goldsboro and her daughters, Tammy and Courtney.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery with Dr. Glenn Phillips officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her residence, 2510 Hwy 70 West, Goldsboro.
