Ruth Capps Thompson

Portsmouth, VA – Mrs. Ruth Capps Thompson, 86, a resident of Autumn Care Nursing Home, died Wednesday at Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth, VA.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Capps and Mary Sullivan Capps and was the widow of the late Bobby Thompson.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her nieces, Barbara Pittman and husband Jim of Goldsboro and Sheila Gardner and husband Melvin of Smithfield; her nephews, Phil Capps and wife Pat of Lucama, Bill Capps of Lucama, and Elton Underhill and wife Frances of Portsmouth, VA.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
