Willa Dees Cook Thompson

Goldsboro – Mrs. Willa Dees Cook Thompson, 79, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Hardy Cook and Mae Bennett Cook and was the widow of Harry Eugene Thompson Jr., who preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Rick Cason officiating.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her sons, Wayne Cook and wife Jennifer of Washington and Harry Eugene Thompson III and wife Debra of Goldsboro; a sister, Ruth Catzva of Washington and a brother, Dexton Cook of Wilson; and four grandchildren, Alison L. Cook, Miranda L. Thompson, Victoria L. Thompson, and William E. Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter Ray Cook and Milton Cook and a grandson, Jason Cook.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
