Nancy Jones Thomson
 Goldsboro – Mrs. Nancy Jones Thomson, 75, died Wednesday at her home.
A native of Ashland, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Powhatan Worth Jones and Eliza Marshall Tyler Jones. Mrs. Thomson was a retired school teacher and was a member of the North Carolina Society of Colonial Dames. She was a volunteer for a number of years with the Soup Kitchen at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and at the Salvation Army.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. William Hufham officiating.
Mrs. Thomson is survived by her husband of 46 years, Julius Faison Thomson; two daughters, Marsha East and husband, Jeff of Raleigh and Laurie Moore and husband, Mike of Fuquay-Varina; and her grandchildren, Nancy East, Hunter East, Allie Moore and Spencer Moore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Soup Kitchen at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 200 N. James Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530 or to the Salvation Army, 610 N. William Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the home, 705 Park Ave., Goldsboro.
