Charlotte Nix Thunberg

Goldsboro – Charlotte Nix Thunberg, 71, of 614 Gloucester Road, died Tuesday evening at her home.

A resident of Wayne County since 1956, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Trula Joy Nix and was married to the late William E. Thunberg, Sr. Mrs. Thunberg was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the March of Dimes. She was a devoted golfer at Walnut Creek Country Club.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances Thunberg of Goldsboro; son, William Thunberg, Jr. of Mooresville, NC; sister, Janette Kerns of Knoxville, TN; and four grandchildren, Stefanie Walters of Dudley, Zach and Alex Thunberg of Mooresville and William Walters of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends Thursday at Seymour Funeral Home from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and other times at the residence.
