Adolphus Linwood Tilley, III


Goldsboro– Mr Adolphus “Buzz” Linwood Tilley, III, 63, of 1800 Evergreen Avenue, died Saturday at his residence.

A native of Durham, N.C. he was the son of Daisy Dixon Tilley and the late Adolphus Linwood Tilley, Jr. He was the owner and operator of Krispy Kreme Doughnut Co., of eastern N.C. and a member of the Golden ‘K’ Kiwanis Club of Goldsboro.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 2 PM at Saint Paul United Methodist Church with Dr. Billy Seate officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Golden ‘K’ Kiwanis Club members.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Smith Tilley; daughter, Amanda Tilley of Greenville, N.C.; brother, Mac Tilley of Rocky Mount, N.C.; sister-in-law , Sylvia Tilley of Elizabeth City, N.C.; brothers-in-law, Waverly Smith of Raleigh, N.C. and Billy Smith of Roanoke Rapids, N.C; a special friend, Carlton Troublefield of Goldsboro and his faithful companion, Gus.; five nephews and three nieces.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dixon Tilley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Don Lee Center, a camp and retreat ministry of the NC United Methodist Conference c/o Camp Don Lee, 315 Camp Don Lee Rd., Arapahoe, N.C. 28510.

The family will receive friends following the service in the Church and at other times at the residence.
