Thurman Daniel Toler

– Thurman Daniel Toler, 79, slipped away into the waiting arms of
Jesus on Easter Morning, March 23, 2008 at his home surrounded by
his family.
Thurman was born in Wayne County on September 16, 1928 to the late
Lloyd Toler and Gatsy Fail Toler. He was retired from Ready Mix
Concrete Company. While serving in the United States Army, he was
stationed in Keln, Japan. Thurman was a charter member of the Church
of God of Prophecy and was currently a member of Now Faith Church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Now Faith Church,
on Buck Swamp Road. His grandson, Rev. Jeff Toler, will officiate.
Interment will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Precious memories shall linger in the hearts of his wife of 57
years, Gladys Blackmon Toler; his daughter, Shirley Toler and her
husband, Junior of Goldsboro; his sons, Danny Toler of Goldsboro,
Clifford Toler and wife, Gay of Goldsboro and Randy Toler and wife,
Angie of Pikeville; his grandchildren, April Holland and husband,
Kirk, Jeff Toler and wife, Tonya, Jamie Toler and wife, Sharon,
Kevin Toler and wife, Heather, Mark Toler and wife Christina, Brandy
Toler, Alan Toler, Wayne Toler and Ashley Toler; and eleven
great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Dixie
Toler, his brothers-in-law, Malcolm Blackman and wife, Joann, and
Lounes Blackman and wife, Glenda; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother,
Cedric Toler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Now Faith Church, 296
Buck Swamp Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at the
church and other times at the home of his daughter, Shirley Toler,
101 W. April Lane, Goldsboro.
