Sidney Durwood Turnage


Goldsboro – Mr. Sidney Durwood Turnage, 75, of 2200 N. Berkeley Blvd., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

A native of Greene County, he was the son of the late Sidney Lee Turnage and Tiny Head Turnage and was married to his devoted wife, Marie Grady Turnage. Mr. Turnage was a member of Woods Grove P.F.W.B. Church.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Woods Grove P.F.W.B. Church with Rev. Mike Grady officiating. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Donald Turnage of Farmville; his sisters, Trudy Browning of Goldsboro, Mollie Gray of Snow Hill, Ruby Chase of Snow Hill, Jean Anderson of Goldsboro and Annette Beaman of Snow Hill; and several nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Gay M. Coker and Kela M. Preston of Goldsboro.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie James Turnage and Virgil Lee Turnage.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Woods Grove P.F.W.B. Church, 4009 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends Thursday following the service at the church and other times at his residence.
