Ezekiel "Zeke" Mearmon Turner, Jr.

Goldsboro – Ezekiel "Zeke" Mearmon Turner, Jr., 73, of 1911 O’Berry Center Road, died Friday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late E.M. and Dollie Kearney Turner. He was a member of the Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Casey officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Wadsworth Turner; daughters, Sandra Turner Fisher and husband, Doug of Goldsboro and Lynette Turner Capps and husband, John of Apex; grandchildren, Morris Dail and wife, Ginger and Brandon and Bradley Capps; great-grandchild, Morgan Dail; sister, Blanche Radford of Goldsboro; a special niece, Marie Brogden of Goldsboro; and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Eva Wooten, Minerva Adams and Jeanette Lewis; and brothers, Naaman Turner; Herman and Paul Kearney.

The family will receive friends Sunday at 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church and other times at the residence.
