Viola Westbrook Tyndall

Goldsboro, NC -- Mrs. Viola Westbrook Tyndall, 96, died Saturday at
Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was born in Wayne County on
November 13, 1907 to Lovett Westbrook and Emily Baker Westbrook. She
was married 45 years to the late Hubert Haywood Tyndall. She was a
member of Antioch Original Free Will Baptist Church and a volunteer
with the Retired Volunteers Program for 20 years.
Funeral services will be Monday night at 7 PM at Seymour Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Otis Hamm officiating. Interment will be 11 A.
M. Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Park.
She is survived by four children: Dr. H. Durwood Tyndall and wife
Catherine of Goldsboro, Gladys Tyndall Garris and husband Melvin of
La Grange, Doris Tyndall Lancaster of Pikeville, and Carl H. Tyndall
and wife Diane of Roseboro; sixteen grand children, Jimmy Garris and
wife Sandra, Gerald Garris and wife Peggy, Dianne Garris Cianfarra,
Michael Lancaster and wife Gail, Lynn Lancaster Britt and husband
William, Robin Lancaster Potter and husband Rhet, Hope Tyndall
Hancock and husband Gerry, Sissy Tyndall Newell and husband Howard,
Cathy Tyndall Hollowell and husband Alan, Prudence Tyndall Frederick
and husband Ron, H. Durwood Tyndall, Jr. and wife Kristen, C.
Haywood Tyndall, Jr. and wife Teresa, Pamela Tyndall Matthews and
husband Lloyd, Michael A. Tyndall, Jason Leonardo and wife Wendy,
and Kevin Whitley and wife Cindy. She had twenty-five
great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren and one
sister Alma Westbrook Herring of Mt. Olive.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; John Westbrook, Claude
Westbrook, and Robert Westbrook and five sisters; Lula W. Jones,
Lona W. Bass, Bessie W. Smith, Sudie W. Fields, Mary W. Spence and
by one son-in-law, Jimmy Lancaster.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Antioch Original
Free Will Baptist Church, 1718 Antioch Church Rd., Pikeville, NC
27863 or to the Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court,
Goldsboro, N. C. 27534.
The family will receive friends following the service and at other
times at the home of her daughter, Doris Lancaster, 6233 Wayne
Memorial Drive, Goldsboro. |
