Rev. Aaron Grandison Tyson

Goldsboro – Rev. Aaron Grandison Tyson, 75, of 104 Courtland Place, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Pitt County, he was the son of the late Henry C. Tyson and Mary Edwards Tyson and was a retired Methodist minister and educator. While serving as a pastor, Rev. Tyson held pastorates in Wayne, Vance, Franklin, Moore, Robinson and Harnett Counties.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. T.C. West and Rev. Virgil Whitehurst officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Rev. Tyson is survived by his wife, Lucille Edwards Tyson; his daughter, Nell Davis and husband, Glen of Goldsboro; his son, Bill Tyson and wife, Frances of Angier; his sisters, Rose Gardner of Rocky Mount, Mary Smith of Farmville, Addie Parker Williams and husband, Thomas of Sanford, Sally Mozingo and husband, Willie of Farmville, and Carrie Best Davis of Hickory; his brothers, Henry Tyson and wife, Wilma of Greenville and Amos Tyson of Farmville; and his grandchildren, Justin Davis, Taylor Davis, and Angela Tyson.

The family will greet friends following the service on Friday at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
