Maxine Hicks Wade

Goldsboro – Maxine Hicks Wade, 63, of 2576 Hwy. 13 N, died Wednesday at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Dortch and Docia Lane Hicks. She was a housewife and was retired from DuPont.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Gladys Wells and Arlene Wade officiating. Entombment will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

She is survived by her husband, John Selby Wade; son, John Phillip Wade and wife, Sandy of Goldsboro; two granddaughters, Christy Wade Martin and Brandie Wade; two grandsons, Phillip Clay Martin and Joshua Cody Martin; five sisters, Charlotte Hicks Kelly of Goldsboro, Peggy Hicks Holland of Newport News, VA, Willie Hicks Lewis of Morehead City, Jackie Hicks Wampole of Fort Wayne, IN, and Debbie Hicks Alford of Nashville, TN; and a brother, Dortch Allen Hicks, Jr. of Raeford.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Sally Hicks Howell, Margaret Hicks Haynes and Linda Hicks Peacock.

The family will receive friends following the service.
