Carl Warren Wadsworth


Goldsboro – Mr. Carl Warren Wadsworth, 62, of 1802 Stephens Street, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of Mary Venitia Warren Thorne of Goldsboro and Carl H. Wadsworth and his wife, Nina Wadsworth of Dudley. Mr. Wadsworth had retired as director of sales for Franklin Baking Company with 32 years of service and was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

A celebration of his life will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park with an escort by the Goldsboro Chapter of the NC-B Gold Wing Road Riders Association.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Frankie McKinzey Wadsworth; his daughters, Debbie Barber and husband, Jimmy of Maggie Valley and Sandra Bowden and husband, Ray of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Derick Ray Bowden, Patrick Bowden and Blake Bowden; his step-sons, Ryan Jordan of Boston, MA and Jay Jordan and wife, Susan of Brunswick, MD; his step-grandson, Mark Jordan; his brother, Kenneth Wadsworth and wife, Jean of Goldsboro; and his sisters, Seleia Sharpe and husband, Stoney of Goldsboro and Becky Kirchner and husband, Eric of Raleigh.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Ann Boyd and his brother, Deams Ray Wadsworth.

The family will receive friends Sunday at Seymour Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
