Dorothy Hollowell Weaver

Goldsboro – Mrs. Dorothy Hollowell Weaver, 72, of 494 Stevens Church Road, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Gurney J. Hollowell and Renna Stevens Hollowell. Mrs. Weaver owned and operated Dorothy’s Florist for many years in Goldsboro and the Grantham Community. She was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church and the Newton Grove Chapter #267 Order of the Eastern Star.

A celebration of Mrs. Dorothy’s life will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Falling Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ralph N. Weaver, Sr.; her daughters, Sandra Thompson and husband Wiley, Nancy Lipa and husband Gary, June Scott and husband Jimmy and Lisa Adams and husband Randy, all of Goldsboro; her son, Ralph N. Weaver, Jr. and wife, Grey of Goldsboro; eleven grandchildren, DeWitt and Bryan Thompson, Ledell and Joshua Scott, Lisa Knoll, Linda and Christy Weaver, Jake and Amy Lipa, Jonathan and Joseph Kornegay, and Ethan Adams; two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Kimberly Scott; and her sister, Theresa McBryde of Raeford.

Memorials may be made to the Newton Grove Chapter #267, Order of the Eastern Star, Newton Grove, NC.

The family received friends Saturday at Seymour Funeral Home and other times they will be at her home.
