Roland Webber

Goldsboro – Mr. James Roland Webber, 95, of 4461 U.S. 70 East, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Greene County, he was the son of the late Sidney Albert Webber and Emma Worrell Webber and was married to the late Vivian Grant Webber for 72 years. Mr. Webber was a retired farmer and co-owner of New Hope Milling Company. He served on the local school board of New Hope School for several years. Mr. Webber was a faithful member of New Hope Friends Church for about 75 years and served in various capacities.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at New Hope Friends Meeting with Gordon Clarke and Wayne Allman officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

He is survived by his sons, Harold Webber and wife, Joyce of Goldsboro, William Webber and wife, Betty of LaGrange, Sidney Webber and wife, Rose of Goldsboro and Donald Webber and wife, Linda of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and ten step great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Rosa Stapleford of Kinston, Naomi Parks of VA, Irene Trainum of Charlotte, Dorothy Rhodes of VA and Christine Hargrove of GA.

Mr. Webber was preceded in death by a grandson, Randy Webber and daughters-in-law, Frances Fulghum Webber and Edith Jones Webber.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to the New Hope Friends Building Fund, 4451 E U.S. 70, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
