Martha Jones Whaley

Goldsboro – Mrs. Martha Jones Whaley, 89, died Thursday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.

A native of Johnston County, Mrs. Whaley was the daughter of the late Jasper Floyd Jones and Bettie Langston Jones and was the widow of Tony Whaley. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jack Sauls officiating.

Mrs. Whaley is survived by her daughter, Joy Faye Whaley of Kinston; her son, Jackie Tony Whaley and wife, Dorothy of Goldsboro; her sisters, Letha Watson and husband, Edward Vann of Lucama and Peggy Holloman and husband, Robert of Princeton; her brother, Willard Jones and wife, Betty of Chicago, IL; her foster brother, Ralph Jones of Greenville, TN; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
