Leland Smith Whittle

Goldsboro – Mr. Leland Smith Whittle, 91, of 603 Hooks River Road, died Monday at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.

A native of Saluda County, South Carolina, Mr. Whittle was the son of the late Arthur Cromwell Whittle and Ethel Smith Whittle. Mr. Whittle was a retired salesman with Owens and Minor Pharmaceutical Company and was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church. He also was a member of the Golden “K” Kiwanis Club.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Fishman officiating. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens in Warsaw.

Mr. Whittle is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Miller Whittle; his daughters, Joyce Bell and husband, Ray of Kenansville and Sue Davis and husband, Frank of Raleigh; a sister, Mrs. Ernest Todd of Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother, Arthur Whittle of Greensboro; and four grandchildren, Patrick Bell and wife Mary, Elizabeth Davis, Amy Davis and Jennifer Davis.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Golden “K” Kiwanis Club.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
