William Gardner Wiley

Goldsboro – Mr. William Gardner Wiley, 88, of 106 Head Street, died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Onslow County, he was the son of the late Odie Wiley and Bessie Baysden Wiley. Mr. Wiley was retired from Borden Manufacturing with 50 years of service. He was a member of Oak Heights Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and the Young At Heart Club and the Christian Fellowship Class. Mr. Wiley was also a member of the Woodmen of the World and the TPA.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Horace Johnson and Rev. Charles Heath officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Wiley was a very loving husband and father. He enjoyed being a friend to everyone that knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Lillie Barham Wiley; daughters, Carolyn Hardison and husband, Tom and Pat Hamm and husband, A.J., all of Goldsboro; a daughter thru love, the late Lois Jones Little and her husband, Billy; his grandchildren, Jamie Hamm and wife, Loi, Robin Salter and husband, Nigel, Tammy Floars and husband, Darryl, Michele Overton and husband, Billy, Scott Hamm, Shannon Smith and husband, Wayne and Andrea Hardison; great-grandchildren, Jason Hamm and wife, April, Cole Dawson, Bobby Floars, Lee Watts, Holly Dawson, Blair Floars, Susan Salter, Brad Floars, Blake Floars, Lauren Smith; great-great-grandson, Matthew Hamm; brothers, Herman Edwards of LaGrange, Hoover Edwards and wife, Pearl of Richlands, and David Edwards of Richlands; a sister, Christine Brinson and husband, Randolph of Richlands; special friends, Jasper and Mary Lee Pate and Jessie and Jim Brock; and several nieces and nephews.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Oak Heights P.F.W.B. Church, 2103 O’Berry Center Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530 or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, Carolyn and Tom Hardison, 103 Louise Circle, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
