Arthur Ralph Wilkins

Goldsboro – Mr. Arthur Ralph Wilkins, 82, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late Adam and Rebecca Wilkins and was married to the late Doris Johnson Wilkins. Mr. Wilkins was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II and the European Theatre and was the recipient of two purple hearts. He was a former proprietor of Wayne Electric Company in Goldsboro. Mr. Wilkins was also a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He had played semi-pro baseball in Wilson, NC for two seasons in 1937-1938.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will be held at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Wilkins is survived by his daughter, Cathy Wilkins of Tulsa, OK; his sons, Steve Wilkins of Hudson, NC and Brian Wilkins of Goldsboro; two grandchildren, Cody Wilkins of Notre Dame, IN and of Hudson, NC and Hunter Wilkins of Hudson, NC; and one sister, Rosalie Winstead of Raleigh.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
