James Louis Williams, Sr.


Goldsboro – Ret. Major (U.S.A.F.) James Louis Williams, Sr., 86, formerly of 904 S. Taylor Street, died Wednesday at Croatan Village in New Bern.

Major Williams was a retired computer data services operator with the United States Air Force and served his country during World War II. He was the former owner of Jim Williams Business Forms and was an active member of First Baptist Church. Major Williams was one of the original founders of Waynesborough Historical Park and was a past member and president of the Golden “K” Kiwanis Club.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Glenn Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Major Williams is survived by his daughter, Paula W. Boseman of Norfolk, VA; his son, Louis Williams, Jr. of New Bern and two grandchildren, Brennen Boseman and Jenna Boseman.

Major Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Ethel Hodge Williams.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 125 S. John Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
