John H. Williams, Sr.


Mr. John Hill Williams Sr., 73, died Friday at Wake Medical Center. A native of Greene County, he was the son of the late Eddie and Carrie Hill Williams.  Mr. Williams was founder and  retired owner of Northway T. V. and was retired member of Pinewood Volunteer Fire Department.  He was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy and a avid hunter.

     Funeral service were held Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home with Gordon Clarke officiating.  Graveside services were held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Harris Williams; daughters, Susan Godfrey and husband Gary and Cathy Anders and husband Andy; son, John "Johnny" Williams, Jr. and wife Debra; step-daughters, Debbie Cherry and husband Linwood and Pat Rabon and husband Steve; sisters, Emma Jean Wilson and husband Jim and JoAnne Wyman and husband Jerry; brother, Hank Williams and wife Louise; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

     Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Williams Rose, a sister, Nan Utley and a brother, Eddie Williams.
