Robert Johnston Williams III
 Goldsboro- Mr. Robert Johnston Williams III, 79, died Tuesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville.
A native of Wilmington, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Robert Johnston Williams, Jr. and Isabelle Brown Williams. Mr. Williams was a retired salesman and a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was in the United States Navy, a veteran of World War II and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was a former member of the Goldsboro Elks Lodge, Goldsboro Kiwanis Club and an avid golfer at Goldsboro Golf Club and Walnut Creek Country Club.
Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Thursday, January 23, 2003 at 3:00 pm with Dr. William Hufham officiating. A private burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Mr. Williams is survived by his daughters, Isabelle W. Doss (Brownie) and husband, Jimmy, of Goldsboro and Mary W. Brunner and husband, Lad, of Salt Lake City, Utah; a son, Robert Johnston Williams IV of Fayetteville; his grandchildren, James, William, and Charlie Doss; Paul Brunner; RJ, Palmer, and Caroline Williams; and his wife, Cathryn L. Williams of Morehead City. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Brown Williams of Hopewell, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 501 Mill Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or to First Presbyterian Church, 1101 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
The family will receive friends following the service and at other times at the home of Brownie and Jimmy Doss, 1602 E. Walnut St., Goldsboro.
