Alice Woodruff Wood

Goldsboro – Alice Woodruff Wood, 86, of 405 N. Herman Street, died Thursday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John T. Woodruff and Mary Speering Woodruff and was the widow of George Hall Wood. She came to Goldsboro with her family in 1956 and lived her until her death. Mrs. Wood retired from Weather Brothers Transfer Co. after 60 years of employment.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery with Gordon Clarke officiating.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Lynch of Goldsboro; and sons, George Hall Wood, Jr. of Goldsboro and Michael B. Wood and wife, Sara of Aiken, SC.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
