Virginia Ginn Woodard


Goldsboro – Mrs. Virginia Ginn Woodard, 82, of 831 Community Drive died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Owen F. Ginn and Mary Virginia Dowdy Ginn and was the widow of Hilary David Woodard. Mrs. Woodard was retired from civil service at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and formerly volunteered with the American Red Cross. She was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Crane and Rev. J.B. Helms officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Woodard is survived by her daughters, Mary Williams and husband, Herbert E. Williams, Sr. of Goldsboro and Linda Lee Woodard of Chapel Hill; her son, David Woodard and wife, Carolyn of Granite Falls; her grandchildren, Herbert E. Williams, Jr., Dana S. Williams, Justin Woodard and Jordan Woodard; her sisters, Frances G. Williams of Goldsboro, Evelyn G. Mitchell of Willoughby, OH and Grace G. Jones of Smithfield; and her brother, Owen F. Ginn, Jr. of St. Charles, IL.

Mrs. Woodard was preceded in death by her sisters, Thelma Robertson and Evelyn G. Mitchell and her brothers, James Cleveland Ginn and Owen F. Ginn, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church Building Fund, 867 NC 581 Hwy. S, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends Friday at Seymour Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.
