Obituary for Willie Edward Blizzard

Willie Edward “Bud” Blizzard, 80, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Wayne UNC Healthcare surrounded by his family.

Bud was born In Wayne County, NC on April 5, 1937 to the late Bryant Samuel Blizzard and Bertha Lee Worrell Blizzard. He was married to the late Dorothy Beatrice Evans Blizzard. He retired after 30 years of service with the Department of Agriculture - Cherry Farm Unit.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Willie’s life at 3:00 PM in the chapel. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Willie is survived by his sons, Earl Blizzard and friend Gina Coor of Pikeville and Randy Blizzard and fiancée Rhonda Aycock and her daughter Cassidy of Goldsboro; brothers, Gerald Blizzard and wife Barbara of Goldsboro and Wayne Blizzard of Mount Olive; sister, Nancy Garnitta Kearney of Goldsboro; and his grandchildren, Katie Blizzard and Miranda Blizzard.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ida Mae B. Barfield and Mary Elizabeth B. Fuller; and brother-in-law, Paul Kearney.
