Obituary for Joseph Benjamin Nassef, Jr.

Joseph Benjamin Nassef, Jr., 75, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 18, 2019.

Joe was born in Wayne County on August 26, 1944 to the late Joseph Benjamin Nassef, Sr. and Edna Blackwell Nassef. For over 31 years, Joe served as the building inspector for the County of Wayne. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. in Willow Dale Cemetery with military honors.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Amber Nicole “Niki” Miller and husband Mike of Apex; sons, Joseph Benjamin “Jody” Nassef, III and wife Anne of Goldsboro and James Christopher “Jamey” Nassef and wife Lezlie of Fort Myers, FL; brother, Robert Steven Nassef of Wilmington; and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by a very special long-time girlfriend, Sandra Smith.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in Joe’s memory to Wrestling Team at Rosewood High School, a program that he enjoyed being a part of.
