Obituary for Joseph Peter Globke

Tech Sergeant Globke, Joseph Peter, 60, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 29th.

One of six children, Joseph was born on April 19, 1959 in Detroit, MI, to the late Marvin and Jean Globke. In 1977, at the age of 18, he enlisted in the Air Force where he proudly served as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. During his time in service, he saw an end to the Cold War and participated in Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. His final position was that of an F15 Fighter Jet Crew Chief at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Anyone that knew Joe understood his love and appreciation for the military and the American Flag. He was one of the most patriotic people you would ever meet; a man of courage, integrity, and honor.

Joe had a heartfelt, compassionate soul and would do anything for anyone that was within his means. Some of his loves and interests were Nascar, Harley Davidson, photography, and camping.

Joe was the Dog Father to Echo, his dearest friend and companion, a German Shepard that he adopted at the age of 3. He loved Echo with all of his heart.

His three sons survive him; son Stephen and wife Shawna Globke of Springfield, MO, with daughters Morgan, Aniston, and Brynlee; son Jonathan and wife Tracey Globke of Goldsboro, NC with children Austin, Blake, and Kara; son Nathan and wife Traci Globke of San Antonio, TX, with daughter Emma; and stepdaughter, Jasmine and husband Michael Morgan with daughter Paisley. He is survived by his siblings; Sisters Kathleen Habarek, Patricia Wittstock, and Michele Barnes; Brothers Michael and George Globke. He is also survived by the friends and additional family members that have had their lives touched by his presence.

Joe wanted to extend a special thank you to DaVita Dialysis in Goldsboro and their extraordinary personnel that touched his life over the course of the past twelve years; Lisa, Beth, Marcie, and Amanda especially.

A graveside service to celebrate Joe’s life is being held at 2pm on Friday, November 8, at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Bill Rose officiating.

“Remember what the dormouse said. Feed your head.”
