Obituary for Nellie Binkley Vrbetic

Nellie Binkley Vrbetic, 85, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Nellie was born in Livingston County, Kentucky on August 18, 1934 to the late Dewey and Edith Guess Binkley. She was married to the late George Vrbetic. Nellie always enjoyed the opportunity to do needle work, crocheting and quilting and found more pleasure in sharing her works of art with others.

Nellie was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family. She set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.

A service to celebrate Nellie’s life will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 by the graveside at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Bill Rose officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Nellie is survived by her children, Joseph Donald Butler, Jr. (Alayne), Janet Estelle Pittman (Greg), James Stewart Butler (Cammie), Judy Melinda Aycock (Troy) and Vicki Butler Kornegay (Hervy); grandchildren, Angie Barnett (Frank), Andy Butler, Ashley Braddock (Eric), Marshall Butler, Amanda Crump (Jason), Keith Norman Jr. (Ben), Brittney Thorne (Andrew), Jordan Kornegay, Hannah Kornegay, Jacob Aycock, Lynsey Aycock, Cassie Williams and Daniel Bloom (Jenny); and great-grandchildren, Haley, A.J., Laken, River, Cheyenne, Paisley, Taylor, Joshua, Aubrey, Caitlyn, Lily, Nora and Danny. She is also survived by her brothers, Billy Binkley and Phil Binkley (Henrietta); sisters, Belle Driver, Ina Williams (Dwight), Mae Butler (Carter) and Susie Shuecraft (Denzil); and many nieces and nephews she loved very much.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Binkley and sister, Frankie Warnick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Nellie’s memory to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or to Alzhemiers NC, Inc., 1305 Navaho Drive, Suite 101, Raleigh, NC 27609.
